As part of the Erasmus project, On The Wings of Legends, we renovated a small room in the school to turn it into a reading room. Students can have access to it in small groups on their free time in particular. Thank you to the parents who sublimely decorated this room in the colors of the project. New books will gradually enrich this lovely space.

L’école à la découverte de l’Europe
L’école de la Chapelle-Janson continue son ouverture sur l’Europe à travers un nouveau projet européen Erasmus en lien avec 5 écoles de différents pays : la Grèce, la Finlande, La Hongrie, le Royaume-Uni et l’Espagne.
Le projet s’intitule « On the Wings of Legends» (« Sur les Ailes des Légendes »). les initiales OWL signifient la chouette en anglais, symbole de légendes.
Pendant deux ans, les élèves vont vivre différentes activités avec leurs camarades européens sur ce thème : lectures de textes traditionnels et européens, productions artistiques, sorties en lien avec les héros ….
En attendant d’accueillir une vingtaine d’enfants et des enseignants des écoles partenaires du projet qui viendront découvrir la région en octobre 2020, 4 élèves de CM2 se rendront en Grèce avec des enseignants pendant les vacances de février pour y découvrir le berceau de la mythologie et rencontrer des camarades des pays partenaires.
Le vendredi 24 janvier, tous les élèves du CE1 au CM2 ont participé à différents ateliers autour des 6 légendes étudiées depuis septembre : Le Roi Arthur (France), L’épée de Dieu (Hongrie), le Mythe de Dédale et Icare (Grèce), Les quatre Barres (Catalogne – Espagne), Le Mythe de Vaïnamoïnen (Finlande), Robin des Bois (Royaume-Uni).
Au cours de cet après-midi, avec l’aide de parents et de bénévoles, les élèves ont réalisé des productions artistiques : des boucliers (légende des Quatre Barres), des marque-pages sur chaque héros, des mandalas de chouettes (le symbole du projet), des reproductions des personnages, des labyrinthes à la manière de Dédale et Icare, ils ont joué une pièce de théâtre (en français et en anglais), ont participé à des jeux (ludiques) autour des 6 légendes et ont écouté des histoires sur la mythologie.
« Ce programme a pour but de découvrir de nouvelles pratiques pédagogiques pour rendre les apprentissages plus agréables. En
communiquant avec leurs camarades européens, nos élèves prendront conscience de l’importance de savoir s’exprimer en anglais et peut-être auront-ils l’envie plus tard de voyager ou travailler à travers l’Europe » précise Matthieu Girard coordinateur pour La Chapelle janson et Anne-laure Mancel directrice de l’école.

The school to discover Europe
The Chapelle-Janson school continues to open up to Europe through a new European Erasmus project linked to 5 schools from different countries: Greece, Finland, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Spain.
The project is called "On the Wings of Legends" ("On the Wings of Legends"). the initials OWL mean owl in English, a symbol of legends.

Friday, January 24, all students from CE1 to CM2 participated in different workshops around the 6 legends studied since September: King Arthur (France), The sword of God (Hungary), the Myth of Daedalus and Icarus (Greece) , The four Bars (Catalonia - Spain), The Myth of Vainamoin (Finland), Robin des Bois (United Kingdom).
During this afternoon, with the help of parents and volunteers, the students produced artistic productions: shields (legend of the Four Bars), bookmarks on each hero, owl mandalas (the symbol of the project), reproductions of the characters, labyrinths in the manner of Daedalus and Icarus, they played a play (in French and in English), participated in (fun) games around the 6 legends and listened to stories about mythology.
